The Consumer Price Index (CPI) rose 0.2% in La Rioja in May compared to the previous month and places its interannual rate at 3.6 percent, according to definitive data published this Thursday by the National Institute of Statistics (INE).

In monthly terms, inflation in La Rioja increased by 0.2 percent, while so far this year the increase has reached 2 percent.

Where prices rose the most in La Rioja compared to the same month of the previous year was in housing, with 5.8 percent, followed by food and non-alcoholic beverages, 4.8 percent more than in May 2023.

On the opposite side, where prices fell the most in an interannual rate was in household goods, -0.8 percent, and communications, -0.3 percent.

At the national level, the CPI increased 0.3 percent in May compared to the previous month and raised its interannual rate by 0.3 points, to 3.6 percent, according to INE data.
