In advance of the 462nd anniversary of the Foundation of San Juan, the traditional Gala Night was held at the Bicentennial Theater. This event was coordinated by the Municipality of the Capital, since the city’s birthday is also celebrated. Governor Marcelo Orrego participated in that activity.
The president was accompanied by Vice Governor Fabián Martín; mayor Susana Laciar; Ministers of Tourism, Culture and Sports, Guido Romero; Mining, Juan Pablo Perea; Education, Silvia Fuentes; Government, Laura Palma; Health Amilcar Dobladez; Secretary of Security, Gustavo Sánchez, other provincial and municipal officials.

Before witnessing the spectacle, the president said: “This anniversary is an opportunity to remember history and recognize the reconstruction of the city after the 1944 earthquake. The “I want to stay here” evening will highlight the resilience of the people of San Juan.

The message for young people is that San Juan, a beautiful place to live, offers a promising future,” concluded the president.

“I want to stay here… we could… we can” was the motto of the staging carried out by Gerardo Lecich’s cast. In this way, the gala tribute aimed at the emotions and sense of belonging of the people of San Juan, not only in the Capital but in the entire province. Thus, this year tribute was paid to those who, from the founding, including the native peoples and immigrants, did their part to make San Juan the province that it is.
