With the presence of delegates from the ICT Ministry, the mayor of Tunja, Mikhail Krasnov, other municipal leaders, internet service operators and community representatives, Governor Carlos Amaya and the Secretary of Technologies and Open Government, Sandra Urrutia, developed the Connectivity Table where the department’s connectivity and technology needs were discussed.

At the table, government entities, Public Forces, mobile operators, Internet Service Providers (ISP), productive sectors, social leaders and other community actors, presented their difficulties with the provision of the telecommunications service provided in Boyacá. . In addition, commitments were established by the parties to advance the goal of connecting the country.

The governor of Boyacá Carlos Andrés Amaya Rodríguez indicated that new technologies are essential to build the Boyacá Grande “we discussed the connectivity and technology needs that we have as a territory and presented 10 requests in which we hope to work as a team so that our beautiful land advances towards competitiveness.”

The president requested a neutral network to connect 60 municipalities prioritized in the Departmental Development Plan ‘Our Great Plan is Boyacá’ and the internet and television connection problems that exist, “there are many places in Boyacá where we have connectivity problems with “Some operators, we want there to be a prioritization of obligations and create a working table with the operators because there are municipalities that have terrible connection problems in urban areas, generating difficulties in communication.”

During the meeting they announced that a path is beginning to provide digital training and connect to the internet to rural communities in the most distant places of the Boyacá geography, through the signing of the ‘Communities of Connectivity’ agreement that will take place in the coming days. 13 billion destined for 100 connectivity communities, an investment that was achieved with Minister Lizcano thanks to the management of our former minister Sandra Urrutia and who today accompanies the government of Boyacá Grande”

Finally, the governor of Boyacá indicated that all the proposals raised will be brought before the national government and he hopes to have Minister Mauricio Lizcano again very soon to continue taking decisive steps towards the solutions and dreams of the Boyacá people.
