Córdoba pays tribute to Antonio Gala with a bust-sculpture next to the city’s Grand Theater

Córdoba, June 13 (EFE).- The city of Córdoba has honored this Thursday the writer Antonio Gala, who died on May 28, 2023 at the age of 92, with a bust-sculpture that has been located on the central Gran Boulevard Captain and together to the Great Theater of the capital of Cordoba. Hundreds of people from Córdoba have come to the place where the work was discovered, created by the Riojan artist César Orrico, winner of the 2023 Reina Sofía Prize for Painting and Sculpture and who was a member of the seventh promotion of young creators of the Antonio Gala Foundation, during an event in which the recorded voice of the famous writer could be heard in which he stressed that “being from Córdoba is one of the few important things you can be in this world.” IMAGES: RAFAEL ALCAIDE.
