During the Governors’ Summit held in Montería, the president of the department of Quindío, Juan Miguel Gálvez Bedoya, highlighted the tourism potential of Córdoba and offered his experience to help consolidate this sector in the region.

In an interview with LARAZÓN.CO, Governor Gálvez highlighted the beauty of Córdoba’s landscapes and the friendliness of its people, key factors for tourism development.

“You have very beautiful landscapes, you have a very beautiful territory and I believe that that would be essential to do this twinning and to be able to work hand in hand and be able to help you so that Córdoba is visualized and given a tourist department,” he noted.

El Quindío, known as one of the tourist jewels of Colombia, began its transformation after the 1999 earthquake, when they began to convert coffee farms into tourist farms. Today, the department receives more than 1,200,000 visitors a year and has more than 15 theme parks.

Governor Gálvez offered to share this experience with Córdoba to guide the development of its tourism offer. “I believe that we have that experience to be able to indicate and be able to tell you how we can focus,” he stated.

This summit of governors is presented as an opportunity for the exchange of knowledge and successful experiences between the regions, in order to enhance strategic sectors such as tourism, which generate economic development and well-being for communities.
