Two of them are minors.
On the night of this Wednesday, June 12, Carabineros received a call about a new kidnapping in the upper sector of Coyhaique.
According to the uniformed police, the victim was approached by four people, two of them with firearms and a third with a knife-type weapon.
The individuals proceeded to intimidate and attack the person, and later put them in a vehicle in which they began to travel through peripheral sectors of the regional capital.
At one point, the victim is transferred to another vehicle that followed the route of the first, with the aim of taking her to an ATM to steal money. After the struggle with the subjects, the person manages to escape from the vehicle and flee, remaining stranded on Los Arrayanes and Los Álamos streets.
After the victim’s call, Carabineros was established at the scene and later deployed throughout the regional capital.
The major of the First Police Station of Coyhaique, Gerardo González, referred to the details of the kidnapping. “The victim had quite a few injuries to his face and scalp. They stole 150 thousand pesos in cash and one of his credit cards,” he said.
The Coyhaique commissioner pointed out that, thanks to a statement from a relative of the victim, a home where the four subjects were located was located.
“Carabineros proceeded to voluntarily enter this home and found the people hiding in a bedroom. These are recognized by the victim so they were arrested,” González added.
Previous kidnapping
The older man said that after the procedure, an Uber driver came to the unit, who stated that moments before said crime he had also been intimidated and kidnapped. The car stolen from the driver was the one used for the second kidnapping.
Subjects of interest
The protagonists of this kidnapping were two minors and two adults. Between them they register more than 30 arrests. The authors are subjects of interest, both to the Carabineros and the PDI, regarding the crimes of robbery with violence that have mainly affected commercial premises in recent times.
The facts and location of the weapons are still a matter of investigation. The subjects will be formalized.
