The provincial legislator of the Mopof Pablo Villegas proposed launching a surety insurance to facilitate access to rental housing for public employees, within the framework of the housing and rental crisis that prevails in the country and the province.
This is a draft resolution that seeks to “alleviate the economic difficulties faced by citizens” in accessing their own or rented housing.
He spoke about an increase in rental prices but above all the increasing demands to comply with rental requirements, which “have put many families in a precarious situation.”
In this sense, it was observed that currently, adding the month’s advance, deposit, administrative expenses and sealing of the contract, each tenant must face an initial disbursement of approximately 1,600,000 pesoswithout taking into account the real estate commission that is charged.
“This sum is significantly higher than the average salary of the majority of public employees and other workers in the province,” he stated.
CAUTION INSURANCE THROUGH THE BTF
To address this dilemma, Villegas proposed the development of surety insurance by the Bank of Tierra del Fuego (BTF), and that this new financial product would offer “favorable conditions, with a differentiated premium and the possibility of paying in installments.” ” throughout the duration of the rental contract.
The initiative is especially aimed at public employeesin order to facilitate more practical and accessible access to rental housing.
The project contemplates the optimization of the conditions and requirements of the current guarantee service offered by the BTF, with the aim of making it more accessible and beneficial for clients in the province.
