With the World Cup in Mexico on the horizon, the U17 Women’s National Pre-selection will begin their training on June 29 at the CeNARD facilities. The largest event for the category will take place from July 13 to 21 in the cities of León and Irapuato, located in the state of Guanajuato.

The list includes the names of Juana Barrionuevo, Isabella Boullón, Florencia Bragado, Matilda Campos, Francisca Canello Novelli, Catalina Creolani, Sol Depetris, Abril Fernández, Isabella Ingenito, Rocío Leta, Milagros Morell, Sofía Novoa Ferrari, Abril Ochoa, Lola Ritondale, Isabella Roldán, Renata Scordo Hernández and Fiamma Solis. The list retains the 12 bronze medalists from the last FIBA ​​Americas U16.

The call includes Amparo Postigo López as a player invited to training, without being part of the preselection. The head coach will be Paula Budini from Venada.

There will be 16 participants in the World Cup, with Argentina as the only South American representative. The National Team will share Group A with Japan, Spain and Finland, for a first phase of three games and with a round-robin system. Already in the round of 16 they will meet some of the teams that make up Group B such as Italy, Mexico, Mali and New Zealand. The other competitors for the title are Egypt, Canada, Puerto Rico, United States, Australia, Chinese Taipei, Croatia, France.

For the group it will be their third international experience after the championship in the South American U15 in 2022 and the podium in the recent U16 continental event last year, a competition also with Mexico as the host country.
