Former Public Security official has been missing since June 5

Julieta Fernández Calderón, a 67-year-old woman, former official of the Ministry of Public Security, has been missing since Tuesday, June 5, when her relatives saw her for the last time in the El Jardín district, in Dota, San José, where she resides. The Judicial Investigation Organization (OIJ) confirmed that according to her report, she joined that police force until a week later, on the 11th.

On Thursday morning, the judicial authorities also asked for help to locate the woman’s car, a gray Suzuki Baleno GLX from the year 2020 and which was supposedly seen in Liberia, Guanacaste; Pérez Zeledón and the Los Santos area, in San José; as well as Turrialba and Cartago. However, hours later, a source close to the case confirmed that the Tourist Police found the vehicle abandoned in an area next to the road, in Dominical de Osa, Puntarenas.

At the moment, it is unknown if the authorities found any evidence inside the vehicle that would allow them to clarify the case.

According to data from the Civil Registry, Fernández was born in San José in 1956, but registers his electoral address in El Jardín de Dota, in the Los Santos area. She has been a widow since 1999.

If you have information that allows Fernández to be located, please contact the OIJ at 800-8000-645. The information may be confidential.
