These are María Paula Acosta Rojas, Miss Tolima in the National Reign of San Pedro in Espinal, and Katerine Margarita Ortiz Peña, in the National Reign of Bambuco.

The candidates

The Secretary of Culture and Tourism of Tolima, Alexander Castro Salcedo, delivered the decrees appointing the representatives for Tolima to two folklore events that will take place in the month of June in Neiva and El Espinal.

This is María Paula Acosta Rojas, who is 19 years old and is studying the sixth semester of International Business Administration at the University of Ibagué, who will represent Tolima in the 143rd edition of the San Pedro En El Espinal National Festival.

In her artistic experience, María Paula was Miss Chaparral in 2023 and obtained the title of Departmental Viceroy of Folklore, and her career as a folk dance dancer stands out.

“I am very happy to be able to bring every woman and every person from Tolima, and I am sure that we are going to shine in every corner of the country with this joy that characterizes us Tolima women,” said María Paula Acosta.

For her part, Miss Tolima at the Bambuco Festival in San Juan and San Pedro, in Neiva, will be Katerine Margarita Ortiz Peña, who is 21 years old and is a student of Environmental Engineering at the National Open and Distance University, UNAD.

Katerine was Miss Purification in 2023, achieving the title of Departmental Queen of Folklore that same year; In addition, she obtained the crown as National Queen of Folklore representing Tolima. Now, she adds another challenge, winning the National Bambuco Reign.

“I am totally convinced that we will make an excellent and safe representation, because with love and passion everything can be achieved, representing each of the people of Tolima, our culture, tradition and roots; because Tolima is me,” said Katerine Margarita.

Please note that both folkloric events will take place in the month of June along with the programming in Ibagué of the 50th edition of the Colombian Folklore Festival.
