In a message addressed to the president of the Cuba-Vietnam Friendship Association, Yolanda Ferrer, the solidarity organization said it had learned that in mid-May Washington excluded the Antillean nation from the relationship of countries that did not cooperate with the anti-terrorist efforts of United States in calendar year 2023.

“Although it was a necessary action, it is still insufficient on the part of the United States,” underlines the statement that also urges to stop “imposing the economic and financial blockade measures that are unreasonable and unfounded, which cause serious consequences and negative impacts on the life of the brother Cuban people.”

The Vietnam-Cuba Friendship Association of Ho Chi Minh City and the Vietnamese mass organizations always have the conviction and firmly support the revolutionary cause of the Cuban people in the fight against the blockade and for the construction and development of the country, it states later. .

The document also emphasizes support for the process of dialogue and cooperation between Cuba and the United States under a constructive spirit, of mutual respect, search for solutions to differences and promotion of relations between both countries, contributing to peace, stability and development of the region.

“We will always be at your side to consolidate and strengthen friendship, solidarity and comprehensive cooperation for the benefit of both peoples for peace, stability and sustainable development in the world,” concludes the message signed by the president of the Vietnam-Cuba Friendship Association in Ho Chi Minh City, Truong Thi Hien.

Shortly after the decision of the North American State Department became known last May, the Cuban Foreign Ministry classified as absolutely unilateral and unfounded the list that designates States that supposedly “sponsor” terrorism and on which Cuba is kept.

It is, he clarified, a list whose sole purpose is to slander and serve as a pretext for the adoption of coercive economic measures against sovereign States, such as those ruthlessly applied against Cuba.

The clear and absolute truth is that Cuba does not sponsor terrorism, but rather has been a victim of it, including State terrorism, an issue that is well known to the United States government, its State Department, and its intelligence and enforcement agencies. and compliance with the law.
