Dozens of families confined and without tasting any food leave the strong fighting that takes place between the National Army and the FARC dissidents in the rural area of the municipality of Policarpa, in the mountains of the Western Cordillera of Nariño.
The clashes began this Thursday morning in the town of Madrigal, where peasant families who are confined to their homes, through videos recorded and installed on social networks, ask for a ceasefire between the parties in conflict.
The fighting that has not ceased throughout the day is recorded between men from the Land Operations Battalion No. 14 with members of the armed group organized Franco Benavides of the central staff of the FARC dissidents that ventures into that territory.
“We are practically displaced from our homes, we are in a basement, we have not had a single red wine, the bullets are ringing a lot out there, so look what they are doing, help us, we are in bad shape,” says a woman desperately and next to her several people can be seen. children who are crouched and protecting oneself in the midst of gunfire that are made from the nearest mountains.
In the same video, a man expresses with fear that the Army is fighting in the mountains, while the shooting intensifies in the area and in the background a song is heard that says “I ask you for peace for my city.”

In another video you can see some soldiers with their rifles protecting themselves from gunfire in a corner of the small town. Around them, all the businesses and homes remain completely closed, while the streets are empty.
It is estimated that there are at least 100 confined families who have not been able to leave their homes, waiting for the fighting to end so they can resume their daily activities.
On June 2, similar combats occurred in the town of Madrigal, which also left the civilian population in the middle of bullets.
That day, fortunately, there were no fatalities or injuries, but there was a lot of fear and anxiety in the communities.
