Salta businessmen are optimistic about the approval of the Bases law in the Senate, but the unions are not satisfied. From the Commerce and Industry sector of Salta they clarified that the chamber is non-partisan, but that as merchants, they have the need to be optimistic.

“The approval of the Bases law is a step that is necessary, fundamentally due to the modification of the Labor and Tax Law. We know that nothing changes from one day to the next, but commerce needs actions that allow it to improve, look forward and continue working,” said the president of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Province of Salta, Gustavo Herrera.

And he added: “What we need most is a more modern labor law that allows companies to have more formal employees so that the trend is reversed, where 60 percent of formal employment is in the public sector.”

Meanwhile, from the Salta Chamber of Construction they hope that the Bases law will serve to drive the system in a favorable way for everyone. “We hope that it will serve to put everything in motion, not only public works, but all the sectors that we produce and try to make our country bigger,” said the president of the institution, Juan Carlos Segura, although he clarified that they ask for the non-approval of the income tax modification.

The rural sector also views the Bases law positively. “It lays the foundations for an important change that we want to generate in the country, even though the important issues for the agricultural sector that were in the original law are not included, such as export rights, a single health status, biofuels. Fortunately The tobacco issue remains. For all producers it will be of great help, for the treasury and the Province,” said president of the Salteña Rural Society, Joaquín Elizalde.

From the mining sector they agreed that the Bases law is favorable. “We believe that it is a starting point that will be useful, especially the RIGI (Incentive Regime for Large Investments) that makes us equal to the world by being competitive in tax issues. It provides long-term stability, we believe that it is a very good sign “said the president of the Salta Mining Chamber, Simón Pérez Alsina.

And he added: “We are always in favor of development, progress, work and we believe that mining brings that but well. Mining will come if there is an orderly macroeconomy, future predictability and laws. We believe that it is a great step and We hope it is approved by the Deputies.”

Unions

Meanwhile, the member of the Salta Bakers Union, Freddy Carrizo, considers that “the national government is anti-union and the reforms that they will carry out against the workers are being planned because they are really coming for them. The situation is complicated and it is going to get more complicated.” .

For his part, the Secretary of the Commercial Employees Union, César Guerrero, expressed that they are not satisfied with the approval. “It overwhelms workers, employment and public institutions. For example, imposing fines on employers who have unregistered employees, discriminatory dismissals and the creation of the figure of collaborators are setbacks in relation to acquired rights. This “It is not helping to create sources of work but rather making the few that exist precarious and the new ones will be even more precarious,” he said.

For his part, the secretary of ADEMuS (Association of Municipal Employees of Salta), César Molina, expressed: “There are things that do not stop us. Companies that come from outside will not pay taxes and we have to defend our industries because otherwise the country “It’s not going to move forward. Those outside are only looking for their own benefit.”
