The Minister of Public Works of the province of Santa Fe, Lisandro Enrico, reported on the situation of public works in the territory and the efforts that are being carried out with the National Government to resume some of the works that are paralyzed.

Enrico confirmed that the province will sign an agreement with the Nation next Tuesday, June 25. The agreement consists of transferring certain works that correspond to the Nation, to the provincial executive. “There is still nothing more than a possible agreement on some specific works that the nation would not follow and that the province would take over,” Enrico commented.

The provincial official explained that the decision of the National Government to paralyze thousands of public works throughout the country is due to the lack of budget. “The Milei Government found itself with a plan of 9,000 works underway throughout the country and of those 9,000 there will only be 2,000 left, the remaining 7,000 will not continue.“, he pointed.

Enrico confirmed that In Santa Fe there are around 189 national public works paralyzed. Of this total, some will be taken over by the Nation, others will be included in the agreement that the province will sign to complete them, and “there are a large number of works that have no one to take them over and that will surely be terminated or alternative solution schemes will be made. “said the minister.

The minister harshly criticized the National Government’s management of infrastructure. “The National State does not cut the grass, are they going to repair roads?” Enrico questioned. “What they are proposing are some specific route repair contracts, four only, redo new contracts and take some repair contracts,” he added.

Enrico also referred to the situation of the national routes in Santa Fe. “The national routes come from years of poor maintenance and repairing them in the conditions they are in is very expensive,” he said. “What they are proposing are some specific route repair contracts, they are only going to repair some wells in some places,” he added.

The minister assured that the province does not have the resources to take charge of all national public works. “The province has its own work plan, our own demand for needs and things to do throughout the Province,” he said.

Regarding the possibility of the provincial government taking charge of the repair of National Route No. 11, Enrico commented that the option of taking the toll concession was raised. “When Governor Pullaro asked us to take this position to Buenos Aires, we were with the Minister of Economy, Pablo Olivares and with the Minister of Productive Development, Gustavo Puccini, and we proposed to the National Government that given the lack of attention to national routes that go to the port, the province was willing to take charge if the Nation gave the concession for the province to exploit them,” he said.

Finally, Enrico assured that the work on the Santa Fe water treatment plant was resumed and that the National Government sent the funds to pay for a previous work certificate.
