The heavy rains that have occurred in recent weeks in various municipalities of Norte de Santander have generated multiple emergencies due to floods, landslides and overflowing rivers, which have left dozens of people affected.

According to the record of the Risk and Disaster Management office in the department, 1,200 people have been affected in the municipalities of Tibú, Toledo, Abrego and Arboledas.

William Vera, director of the Risk Management office in Norte de Santander, assured that Progress is being made in a new route in the affected areas to update the census of affected people which can reach 1,500.

“With the local management teams we are carrying out a tour of the affected areas to establish whether the number of affected people has increased, which so far is approximately 1,200.”said the departmental official.

In addition, They have indicated that in the municipality of Tibú there are 800 people affected by the rains and in the other municipalities of Toledo and Arboledas there are at least 400 victims, where relief agencies are taking the necessary measures to restore conditions in these areas.
