Besides, Rosa Uño, member of Scouts of Argentinawho improvised a sewing workshop in one of the rooms where she fixed, modified and made clothes to be donated, commented on her experience in the campaign and said: “When we started we started to see clothes that were not completely in condition, so I offered to bring my machine and they made me a ‘VIP’ here. It’s the first time I’m doing this campaign and I liked it.. Now that it is over, we will miss being able to be there and share, because we have made good friends with everyone.”

The beginning of the winter season implies establishing a series of actions aimed at covering the shelter demands required by social organizations and institutions that carry out their mission in the City of Mendoza. With this goal in mind, The capital launched the fourth edition of “The City Shelters You”.

The solidarity collection, with an important participation and contribution, achieved a great result with 2500 garments and 45 blankets donated by residents of the City and Greater Mendoza. The same It had started on Monday, May 13 and had six reception pointsinvolving a month of intense collaborative work.

This initiative It was carried out in coordination with civil society organizations, companies and businesseswith the purpose of accompanying people in vulnerable situations from a perspective of promotion and protection of your rights. Thus, through these actions, we also sought to strengthen the bond of solidarity between the municipality and the aforementioned organizations, establishing a virtuous circle.

With a leading role, 19 organizations collaborated in all the work carried out. Furthermore, businesses Gavel SA, with 10 new thermal blankets, and La Tijera, with 10 new polar blankets, joined the initiative. While it is about 14 entities, picnic areas and dining rooms were beneficiaries of the proceeds. and that will allow reach more than 1900 peopleamong boys, girls, adolescents, young people, older people and people with disabilities.

Each of these participating organizations acted in a manner active and supportivewith a essential contribution in the development of the campaign. According to their possibilities and responsibilities, they collaborated both in the donation of coats and in carrying out a needs survey with institutions/organizations that joined as beneficiaries, in the dissemination of the campaign in their different communication channels and social networks, in the organization and classification of garments, and in mobility and logistics situations.

With a great commitment and dedication, the volunteers in the distribution of garments (selection, classification, etc.) allocated their time to complete what was required by each beneficiary entity. They even provided their own supplies and knowledge to deliver coats in perfect condition.
