Talleres finished its participation of the semester in the Professional League in the best way. He beat Platense 2-1 last night, at the Mario Kempes, not without suffering, but he achieved the goal he set for himself: adding three and finishing first – although today he could be caught up by Huracán and Unión -, thereby closing a Unbeatable first part of the year: top in the championship and in the round of 16 of the Libertadores and Argentina cups.
The “T” came out determined to settle the bid quickly. As soon as the game started he put Girotti in a one-on-one with Vázquez and, after 7 minutes, after a great assist from Botta, Bruno Barticciotto, thrown from the left, was left alone in front of Cozzani and sent his header into the net.
The early advantage was not reassuring, because in the subsequent play Iván Gómez finished with his left foot and “Ajo” Juárez almost scored it: the ball hit Herrera’s crossbar.
They both had generous proposals, which made the game go back and forth. At 13, Alejandro Martínez had it with a left-footed cross shot, after an assist from Girotti, but “there” it was just Minerva with a right-footed shot from 30 meters that went over.
Talleres opted more to unbalance on the wings by pairing Galarza with “Barti” on the left and with Alejandro Martínez on the other side, but not from Botta, the one best suited to generate. The visit was disturbing with a more direct attack, with the ball passing through Juárez and Gómez looking for Ocampo and Minerva.
The game became dizzying and fast moving through the middle, so the goal, on either side, seemed to be falling at any moment. And this was, also, because both showed the same deficit in taking receding marks. But as the minutes passed, it was Talleres of the two that lost more intensity and lost aggressiveness.
And in that back and forth and after Barticciotto was close to scoring again, at 46, from a great run on the right by Ocampo that overtook Riveros, Platense’s equalizer came. The center came and Minerva arriving from the left, free, beat Herrera with a high and crossed shot, from a closed angle.
Talleres started the match trying to press the squid exit higher, advancing lines and adding the greatest number of people in attack. Even Juan Carlos Portillo, who at 10m missed it in front of Cozzani, throwing it over the top, after a good overflow and subsequent center by Martínez.
In search of more oxygen and freshness in the middle, Ribonetto brought in the kid Albarracín for Galarza, another one who missed a good opportunity to show himself. Botta began to come into play more and without much lucidity, he got closer to Cozzani’s goal. And so, at 25 minutes, Martínez got in tune, he faced from the right, with a feint he snubbed Marcich and with a good low shot he put it down and to the left of Cozzani.
A goal that came at a key moment of the game and that responded to the best moment of the Albiazul team, in a match that seemed complicated and against an opponent who did not come to Kempes to play as a supporting actor. And from the hand of a player who needed a goal like that, to clear up all kinds of doubts and secure a place in the squad in the second part of the year.
What came next was a frantic back and forth, in which the “T” was able to score the third and Platense tied it. They each had a couple of situations to convert, but it was Talleres who had the best part because he knew how to adapt himself to withstand the attacks of Squid and defend himself with the ball.
With suffering, yes, but always with some individuality that makes a difference. Like Alejandro Martínez’s, last night.
