The municipality of Juradó, Chocó, woke up flooded after the heavy rains that have occurred in the last hours in the territory.

The preliminary report delivered by Mayor Denio Jiménez Rivas indicates that in addition to the urban area, plus 13 indigenous communities settled in rural areas are seriously affected.

“They are totally flooded, losing crops, losing animals. Our municipal seat, with more than 3 thousand people, has been affected since last night by the whole issue of flooding,” said Jiménez.

The San Roque de la Frontera Educational Institution, in the municipal seat, has lost its entire roof.

Nubia Carolina Córdoba, governor of Chocó, reported that The Nuquí and Istmina rivers are overflowing and the road that connects Quibdó with Medellín has several landslides.
