Recognition of Paula

In April 2023, the leader of the Science portfolio, Aisén Etcheverry, arrived at the Río Blanco Rural School, at which time she launched, together with regional authorities, the first contest “Shaping equity: Pedagogical practices for non-sexist education.

In that instance, she learned about the work and strategies that Paula develops, accompanied by the teaching team that aims to promote science, technology and innovation in its students.

“On my first trip to the regions as minister, I had to visit a rural school called Río Blanco and the vision of its director impressed me. I saw children printing in 3D, programming small toys, exercising their capacity for analysis and critical thinking thanks to this teacher who had been determined to run her school with a skills focus for the future“said the minister.

“That experience marked me and when the Presidency asked us to propose a varied and representative group of different profiles from the world of knowledge, we thought of Paula Miranda, its director,” Etcheverry added.

Meanwhile, the Seremi of Ciencia Austral, Verónica Vallejos, expressed the joy that the professor is part of the Head of State’s tour.

“This is a recognition of their efforts and track record in encouraging boys and girls to use their abilities to the fullest and find solutions to problems through science and technology, areas that are encouraged in school at all levels. I am sure that Professor Paula will return with new knowledge and energy with which she will stimulate the students of the school to continue dreaming and contributing in STEM areas.“added the seremi.
