Gerardo Villar, Mª. Ángeles Frías and 40 more people: We want peace

We are seeing it. Our world, our common home remains wounded. Despite the advances, despite the development of technology and science, despite many efforts… we are still immersed in a world in conflict. We do not learn: violence is not the way, violence achieves nothing, it only destroys and damages.

Our world is still full of armed conflicts; Humanity is threatened by weapons capable of destroying our planet. Furthermore, hunger, injustice, oppression of the strong against the weak.

A world full of violence: Ethiopia, Yemen, Syria, Haiti, Afghanistan… now Palestine, Ukraine. War, always war. And not only this, also harassment, bullying, racism, gender violence; and our fights, our insults, our aggressiveness… It seems that we have become accustomed to violence.

Jesus has greeted us with peace. He has called happy those who work for peace. With Him we have discovered that the vocation of the world is peace; a world in which we are all friends and brothers. Peace is impossible without justice. And this depends on governments and international organizations.

Today we want to value and support the young people who continue to camp on the banks of the Ebro against Israel’s war and supporting Palestine.

We do nothing but join in the peace so many times requested and requested by the Pope. Today we want to ask you for that peace to be a reality; May war cease in all places where there are conflicts. And that we all make a society of peace.

And we also want our voice to be commitment: we do not want to live in violence, we want peace that is built in dialogue and tolerance. We do not want to accept revenge as a way to fix things, we want to embrace forgiveness. We do not want to live in selfishness; We want to be supportive. We do not want to be led by envy, but by love. We denounce aggressive gestures, racism, discrimination, intolerance, bullying and all harassment, human trafficking, abuse, exploitation of any kind, violence against any person.

Today we want to be peace, demand peace, build a world in peace.

Not to the war. No to all types of war.
