Through a Unified Command Post (PMU) installed in the Mayor’s Office of Lorica, Córdoba, six critical points detected in the Sinú River due to erosion and flooding are monitored. These are the following in rural areas:

-Boca de Sarandelo – Sarandelo
-Boca de Mompos- Mata de Caña
-Boca del Yita- Sabá Island
-Corregimiento Los Gómez
-El Campano- Mata de Caña

For this reason, we will continue working tirelessly and hand in hand with the community in provisional works,” it was reported by the municipal administration chaired by Mayor Carlos Manzur, who inspected these sectors.
– Sarandelo Community insists on definitive works to avoid flooding:

At the moment, the municipality of Lorica is in a public calamity due to the intense rains that have raised the levels of the Sinú River, which has nearly 2,000 families in areas such as Montería, Cereté, San Pelayo and Lorica itself in emergency, according to a report from the Ombudsman’s Office.
