More than 700 winter emergencies reported in the country, according to UNGRD

More than 700 emergencies have been reported during the current rainy seasonin which the department of Cundinamarca has been the hardest hit with 135 of these, reported the National Unit for Disaster Risk Management.

They are followed by Huila, with 64, Antioquia (64), Tolima (58), Cauca (41), Caldas (41), Meta (38), Chocó (32), Casanare (31) and Nariño (28).

From this balance, 275 correspond to mass movements, 255 to floods, 133 to gales, 75 to sudden floods, 9 to torrential streams, 4 to thunderstorms and 4 to hailstorms.

The UNGRD reported that it sent yellow machinery to attend to the emergency in Quetame, Cundinamarca, and activated the capabilities of the Colombian Air Force and the National Fire Department to attend to the air transfer of affected people in Chaparral, Tolima.

Added to the above are the overflight to attend to the torrential avenue in Cubarral, Meta and in the river basin of the municipality of Mocoa, in addition, the manned overflight to take images and create the digital model of the surface of the subregion of La Mojanaamong other activities.
