The brutal attack on a couple that even included the rape of a young woman, perpetrated last June 5 at night, revealed a new chapter this Saturday: two other subjects were arrested and the Public Prosecutor’s Office provided details unknown until now.
According to reports, after the previous arrests (see separate) they continued with the tasks of tracking the victim’s SUBE card and the geolocation of the stolen cell phone, reporting to the country’s mobile phone companies while awaiting the results of the genetic comparison between the DNA extracted from detainees and victims.
As a result of these investigations, they determined that the IMEI number of the stolen phone matched a cell phone number that was owned by a citizen named Aguilar, who underwent a procedure this Saturday morning. He himself stated that he had purchased the device in good faith from his brother-in-law, brother of his wife. The information was corroborated by another sister who was at the scene and who indicated that her brother-in-law Federico would be one of the authors of the aberrant incident at the Costanera.
Given this new information, the investigations carried out multiple raids. They detained Federico Ojeda while he was with his wife (Aguilar’s sister), who when interviewed by investigators did not hesitate and stated that her partner had participated in the incident under investigation.
Immediately, the woman explained that Ojeda arrived with the stolen items and that he also did not let her leave for fear that she would tell someone about this situation. According to what they said, Ojeda has a current arrest warrant and a conditional execution sentence in a case
of gender violence where UFI CAVIG previously intervened.
The woman, visibly afraid, took advantage of the situation and vented. He stated that he was aware that after the attack on the Costanera his partner had arrived at his home with a friend of his, Héctor Aballay, along with the stolen effects and that he was also aware that Walter had sent “a shit…” due to a conversation. that he heard between them.
Ojeda’s partner also stated that he was aware of stolen items, such as the jack and the wheel, which had already been sold. With this information, they also arrested Héctor Aballay, who tried to escape from his home, however he was apprehended two blocks away.
The multiple raids carried out yielded positive results regarding the seizure of a red inflatable-type jacket, a pair of brown cargo-type pants and two cell phones.
Ojeda and Aballay are awaiting the hearing to control the legality of the detention, remaining at the disposal of the Guarantees Judge, Gema Guerrero.

Around 11:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 5, a couple was in the vicinity of the Costanera Complejo Ferial, in Chimbas. While
They were inside a vehicle and were approached by two criminals who were dressed as follows: one with a red inflatable jacket with a hood and the other with a black jacket with a hood.
At that moment, one of them approached the young man and took him to the back of the vehicle, where he forced him to open the trunk to steal a hydraulic jack, a spare tire, a cell phone, a wallet and a pair of brown pants. cargo type. At that moment, the other criminal took the girl from her, took her to her hood and sexually abused her, in addition to stealing some of her belongings, including a SUBE card.
The MPF, headed by Eduardo Martínez and Roberto Ginsberg, reported that it proceeded to carry out urgent measures in the following days and detailed them. He sent letters in order to obtain the geolocation of the victim’s cell phone and DNA samples were taken from both victims, especially from the young woman.
In addition, they requested the tracking of the SUBE card, obtaining a follow-up of the uses, recharges, public transportation and the different destinations to which it traveled. The fingerprinting section of the Criminalistics Division of the San Juan Police was carried out
fingerprints of the victim’s vehicle, in order to obtain traces of the criminals.
On the other hand, they explained that a task was carried out to survey and review the cameras in the area of the scene of the event, both from the CISEM and individuals, especially from the Chimbero fairgrounds.
The MPF team also carried out searches in areas of Chimbas and in the town of Las Tapias, Albardón. Previously, they detained three suspects due to the geolocation of a cell phone, the descriptions obtained by the victims and by a witness who stated that he had seen these people offer the allegedly stolen things.
Faced with this, a recognition parade hearing was held in which the injured young man partially identified two of them, while his girlfriend was unable to identify any of them as the alleged aggressor.
The situation of the others mentioned
This Friday the formalization hearing was held and Judge Guerrero decided to dictate a month of preventive detention for Cristian Sebastian Aballay and Marcelo Daniel Aballay (they are brothers) and 5 months of Preparatory Criminal Investigation.
However, with the arrests of Federico Ojeda and Héctor Aballay, it is now unknown what the future of the proceedings will be for the brothers identified as responsible for the attack.
Until yesterday, the investigators had some certainties and many doubts: the raped girl did not recognize any of the Aballay brothers, while her partner stated that he was not entirely sure. It should be remembered that the attack occurred in the middle of darkness and that, in addition, the criminals were hooded, making their identification difficult.
To both (Cristian Sebastian Aballay and Marcelo Daniel Aballay) They were charged with the crime of aggravated robbery for being in an unpopulated area, while Marcelo Daniel Aballay Irrazabal was also accused of sexual abuse with carnal access.
