Yopal Holds Draw for Elections of Elderly Counselors

Through the Secretariat of Social Development and its Senior Adult program, an Extraordinary Council was held at the Life Center of Commune 4. The event focused on the drawing of ballots for the election card for councilors of these centers in the town.

The session was attended by a delegate from the Municipal Person’s Office and delegates from the Government and Health Secretariats. These representatives monitored the process to ensure its transparency and fairness.

Starting on Monday, June 17, the electoral campaign will begin in each of the Life Centers. During this period, candidates will have the opportunity to present their proposals without interfering with the regular activities of these spaces. In addition, the names and details of the candidates will be disclosed on information boards.

The main objectives of the electoral process are to promote the active participation of older adults, ensure a fair and transparent process in all electoral stages and strengthen the role of older adults in society.

The Municipal Administration calls on the beneficiaries of the Life Centers to get involved in this electoral process and encourages all older adults to exercise their right to vote on July 3, 2024. The election is a unique opportunity for the needs and rights of older adults are effectively represented.
