With a night full of emotion, music and dance, the Municipal Folklore Meeting began. The 21 candidates to replace Laura Daniela Pulido Alzate received the sash that officially accredits them as ambassadors.

Chaired by the mayor of Ibagué, Johana Ximena Aranda, and the Secretary of Culture, Mauricio Hernández Cala, the day was magical and was full of the cultural, musical and dance wealth of our beautiful land of Tolima. Likewise, due to the multiculturalism of our country, thanks to the special performance of the Children’s Choir of the Musical Institute of Tolima: “The singing children of Tolima”, made up of more than 100 children of excellent vocal quality and musicality, and to the staging Los Aires de mi Tolima, from the Artistic cast of Caiké Park.

Unforgettable evening

The Tolima Theater was illuminated for a dream catwalk for the ambassadors, who began on the right foot the search for the crown that will be awarded on June 23.

The representatives of 12 communes, seven townships, the Afro-descendant community and the Pueblito Tolimense received the official band, which arrived accompanied by a trousseau, with all the attire, footwear and accessories necessary for the different activities of the Municipal Folklore Meeting.

This gesture symbolizes the support and comprehensive preparation they are receiving to fulfill their role as spokespersons for our cultural roots.
