The body of Liliana Rosa Pertuz Castro, 27 years old, was found by authorities in the municipality of Santo Tomás (Atlántico) on June 14, 2024. The woman was found decapitated in a home in the Buena Esperanza neighborhood, located in the Ciénaga sector; Her limbs were tied and she had apparently been tied to a chair. The person accused of this crime is David Zamora, a 24-year-old young man known in the area as El Chamowhich the victim knew and who was captured by the National Police at the scene of the events.
“We regret the case presented in the municipality of Saint Thomas, in which a woman loses her life. In the development of this case, citizens inform the National Police and when the surveillance patrol arrives at the sector, they find a man, who would be the alleged perpetrator of this incident.. The circumstances surrounding this event are currently under investigation by our Judicial Police,” reported the commander of the Atlantic Police, Colonel John Urrea, quoted by The Herald.

According to the aforementioned media, the woman had been summoned to the home where El Chamo allegedly held her and murdered her. A friend of the victim, identified as Nubia Helena Pedrozo Quintero, gave details of the closeness that Liliana Rosa Pertuz apparently had and the subject in question. As she explained, it was not clear if they had a romantic relationship. However, she assured that the alleged murderer was interested in her.
“He (Zamora) was in love with her, I don’t know if they had a relationship. But he always stayed in her house, and he had a strange look on his face, as if he were on drugs,” the victim’s relative explained to The Herald. However, despite the supposed interest that the man had in the citizen, her friend stated that on several occasions he went too far with her. “She said she liked me and tried to touch me, but I stopped her”said Liliana’s friend Rosa Pertuz.
The apparently strange behavior that the relative identified in the man was evident one day when both she and her friend ran into him. One Saturday, at midnight, they went to the store to buy some things and on their way back, they met the subject; he was armed, and hidden behind a door. “He took out a gun and pointed it at us as if he were going to shoot us,” explained Pedrozo Quintero.
On the day of the murder, they had had a conversation. The victim asked him to go to her house, but, because he was feeling unwell due to a toothache, he did not go immediately. Liliana Rosa Pertuz had asked him to arrive at 5:00 pm, but he arrived at 6:00 pm, when she was no longer there. She had gone to meet El Chamo. “I started writing to her (Facebook) and she didn’t respond to me anymore,” he said..
According to the testimonies of the neighborhood residents, cited by the media Voice of the Eastthe woman arrived at the house of the alleged murderer, where she was received by two more men, known as Fat and The skinny. Upon entering, the citizens heard that they were arguing, but they did not know clearly what the reason was. “They were fighting, but nothing was understood because there was loud music,” one of the witnesses told the news.
So, they decided to notify the authorities. The uniformed officers arrived and found the victim’s body with multiple wounds and the subject, armed. According to El Heraldo, the woman had five children, between 2 and 14 years old.
