Christian Ledesma took the first two points in dispute on the 7th date of the 2024 Road Tourism championship. The Pradecon Racing driver was the fastest in the classification that took place at the Rafaela racetrack and achieved the first pole position for the Chevrolet Camaro in the category.

The new generation cars also looked competitive on the demanding Santa Fe circuit but this time it was not a Ford Mustang – a model that had already achieved two pole positions – the reference in qualifying but a Chevrolet Camaro. “We worked hard for a year and achieving the first pole position for a Camaro in the TC in our 7th race is very good. We have to enjoy this because we come from difficult times,” Ledesma said on Campeones Radio.

The man from Mar del Plata obtained his 31st “pole position” in TC after setting a time of 1’23”109/1000 and ousting Jonatan Castellano (Dodge) from the top by 205/1000. “He escaped by very little, but it is important to remain competitive,” said the SAP Team driver after his best classification of the year and the best for Dodge, along with Facundo Chapur’s second place in Termas de Río Hondo.

Chevrolet achieved its fourth pole in the last five classifications in Rafaela (the exception occurred last October, with Mariano Werner’s Ford) and the 15th in history on the Santa Fe track, equaling the Oval line. As if that were not enough, Chivo placed four of its drivers in the top five positions.

Diego Ciantini (Chevy of Canning Motorsports), who achieved two of the four poles that Chevrolet has in 2024, was 3rd at 324/1000, ahead of Facundo Ardusso (Chevrolet), who in his second race with RV Racing recorded his second top 5 of the year in classification, the same amount as Marcos Quijada (Camaro), who had just finished third in Concepción del Uruguay.

Fourth place in the classification on the Rafael track was occupied by Facundo Ardusso with Chevrolet at 423/1000, fifth Marcos Quijada (Chevrolet Camaro) at 488/1000, sixth Esteban Gini (Toyota) at 514/1000, seventh Santiago Mangoni (Chevrolet ) at 517/1000 and eighth place for the Uruguayan Nicolás Bonelli (Chevrole) at 535/1000 who returned to the forefront.

Ninth position for Julián Santero (Ford) at 541/1000, tenth Otto Fritzler (Dodge) at 542/1000, eleventh the tournament leader José Manuel Urcera (Ford Mustang) at 554/1000, twelfth Mauricio Lambiris (Ford) at 564/1000 1000, thirteenth Gastón Mazzacane (Chevrolet) at 660/1000, fourteenth the champion Mariano Werner (Ford Mustang) at 680/1000 and fifteenth Juan Martín Trucco (Dodge Challenger) at 749/1000. Paraná native Agustín Martínez (Ford) placed 19th and General Ramírez Ayrton Londero (Ford) placed 22nd.

This Sunday the three series will be run at 10:05, 10:30 and 10:55, respectively, while the final race will get underway at 12:55.
