The violence does not stop in Colombia. This Saturday, two massacres were reported in the southwestern part of the country. Massacres were reported in the municipalities of Miranda (Cauca) and Florida (Valle del Cauca). Three people died in each of the violent events.

According to the report from the authorities in the valley, the massacre in Florida occurred in the Nuevo Horizonte neighborhood. The victims were three men, who were attacked from a van on public roads. So far, the identity of the victims is unknown and the Police and the Prosecutor’s Office are already taking action to capture the murderers.

The other massacre, which occurred on Friday night, was perpetrated when armed men shot Jhonny Gómez González, Jhon Álvaro Sánchez and a victim yet to be identified without saying a word.

In this area of the country, the ‘Dagoberto Ramos’ front of the western bloc of the Central General Staff commits crimes, which follows orders from Iván Mordisco. This criminal group is responsible for the wave of violence that the south-west of Colombia is experiencing.

Since last March 17, the government lifted the ceasefire with that criminal organization after the dissidents’ failure to undertake armed actions in the territories of Nariño, Cauca and Valle del Cauca.

Since then, every week the dissidents, under the command of Iván Mordisco, have activated car bombs and harassed public force bases.
