This was confirmed by the head of the General Secretariat of Government, José Guadalupe Torres Sánchez, who described the new tax as “totally socialized” among the members of the Business Alliance and other industries that generate polluting emissions.
In recent days, the Legislative Branch had to carry out an amendment to the disagreements that productive sectors exposed, as well as to incorporate conclusions expressed in the Ecological Forum, organized by the Business Alliance, a situation that they themselves requested for what is expected that there is no subsequent discomfort.
With the above, the application of the so-called “ecological tax” would be on July 1, having been socialized, the state official insisted, so it is not expected that any actor will resort to any legal recourse or controversy.

He added that taxes, regardless of the fact that they are unpopular, “belong to mandatory regulations, so their taxation is mandatory for taxpayers.”
Finally, in the topic he explained that the legislative reform carried out definitively established the validity of the ISEC as of July 1, “when it was originally created, in the San Luis Potosí Income Law 2024, its application was outlined for the month of April, but a later extension set the month of June as the deadline.”
SLP, still without drought disaster declaration
