During the early hours of this Sunday, A gang of criminals entered the Midmall, located in Maipuin an attempt to steal clothing from a store mall. However, the quick action of the local guards made them leave empty-handed.
According to Lieutenant Lucas Fernández Riveros, Santiago Rinconada Prefecture patrol officer, the incident occurred around 12:30 p.m., when “around 10 subjects with their faces covered and armed with firearms(…) using cutting tools to later specifically enter the Geographic store, where they tried to steal species consisting of outdoor clothing.”
For their part, the security personnel, upon realizing the situation, turned on the lights of the commercial premises and immediately notified the Carabineros. At which point the subjects became alarmed, shooting at least 5 times and escaping from the scene. For now his whereabouts are unknown.
After the fact, at the scene It was possible to find firearms that had a current charge for robbery and which, it is presumed, would have fallen when the group fled. Plus an electric saw.
Finally, it was pointed out that none of the security guards were injured for the shots.
