On Saturday afternoon, on Santa María de Oro Street, passing Tucumán, a 53-year-old man was leaving his bicycle at the door of a business. Without taking the necessary safety precautions, the man watched as an unknown person got on the two-wheeler and quickly escaped. However, minutes later he was able to recover it after an intense chase.
Faced with this situation, the owner of the bicycle asked a passerby who was in his car for help. To his surprise, this passerby turned out to be a San Juan Police officer who was in civilian clothes at the time. Without hesitation, the agent decided to help and began a chase in his vehicle.
After an intense chase through the streets of Chimbas, they finally managed to intercept the suspect in a nearby area. The thief, a 34-year-old man, was arrested and the bicycle was recovered undamaged. The quick and effective intervention of the police officer made it possible to prevent the consummation of the theft.
The Prosecutor’s Office intervened in this case, classifying it as attempted theft. The thief is expected to be brought to trial and face the legal consequences of his actions in the coming days.
