Acts of intolerance continue to reign in Santa Marta. On this occasion, street vendors decided to put an end to their personal differences, facing each other with knives on 12th Street in the heart of the Public Market of the capital of the Magdalena department.
According to the first information, the fight would have originated for reasons still unknown, but it quickly escalated to a physical confrontation in the middle of a public street.
In videos and images circulating on social networks, you can see how the two men hit each other. You can also see how both subjects take out knives and try to attack each other.
After several minutes of brawl, several vendors who witnessed the fight interceded and separated them to prevent the fight from escalating to a larger scale.
Likewise, the presence of uniformed members of the Santa Marta Metropolitan Police assigned to the CAI of the Public Market was necessary, who were alerted by the community and went to the place to control the situation.
So far, no arrests have been reported related to this incident, but it is expected that the authorities will carry out the relevant investigations to clarify what happened and take the necessary measures to prevent future confrontations.
The National Police and the merchants in this area call for calm and peaceful coexistence, rejecting any act of violence that puts the safety and well-being of sellers and buyers at risk.
