This is a program socialized by President Petro during his visit to Sweden, where he highlighted that it is an effort of international cooperation and humanitarian aid with the children of Palestine.
The National Government is searching for the necessary resources in order to provide humanitarian aid for the children of Palestine injured in the midst of the conflict with Israel.
These minors will travel with their families to Colombia to receive medical care and rehabilitation, according to the Deputy Minister of Multilateral Affairs, Elizabeth Taylor Jay.
“Colombia, with the spirit of diplomacy for life in all its forms and also attending to our policy of Total Peace and the humanitarian support that we have given to countries, including Palestine, for everything that is happening in Gaza, we have taken the decision to provide humanitarian support to Palestinian children who would travel with their families to Colombia,” the official reported.

Regarding this fact, Foreign Minister Luis Gilberto Murillo assured: “We reaffirm the commitment established by President Gustavo Petro to launch a special program of complete humanitarian assistance for Palestinian boys and girls in Gaza, injured by the multiple attacks on the civilian population in this unacceptable war.”
In this scenario, Minister Murillo socialized the initiative at the high-level conference ‘Call to action: urgent humanitarian response for Gaza’, held in Jordan, where he urged the international community to promote an immediate cessation of hostilities. Colombia seeks to provide comprehensive humanitarian care to the children of Palestine.
Currently, Foreign Minister Luis Gilberto Murillo is analyzing the operational aspects of the program with governments and international humanitarian organizations.
