A group of neighbors confronted the police of Córdoba after the officers detained a man. The event occurred this Sunday in the Villa Retiro neighborhood, in the northeast of the capital city. As a result of the fight, one of the uniformed men ended up injured.

In the morning, a 32-year-old man aboard a Renault 12 car began to rebuke police officers who had cut a corner preventively due to a fire in the sector.

After confronting the agents, the young man decided to avoid the checkpoint and left the scene, causing a chase. Minutes later, the officers managed to stop him in block 15, lot 14. Despite stopping the driver, the three people who accompanied him managed to escape.

While the uniformed officers proceeded to apprehend the subject, the local residents reacted by throwing stones and debris at them. Immediately, the troops began to counteract the aggression through the use of non-lethal weapons. The event was recorded by a cell phone and the recording was later broadcast by ElDoce.tv.

According to the neighbors involved, the agents were excessive in their use of force when arresting the driver of the Renault 12. “They hit him a lot and when they took him away they hit him much more,” they said.

As a result of the fight, an agent had to be referred to the Police Polyclinic as a result of a cutting wound and a dental dislocation. The detainee, meanwhile, was transferred to the Apprehended Containment Unit (UCA).
