The summer programming of the Rioja Culture Center opens this Thursday, the 20th, with ‘Logroño and its wines’, a guided tour of the current exhibition -‘Spirit of wine: wine as a religious value’ from the Vivanco collection – and a subsequent tasting of 4 wines from 4 wineries in Logroño commented by a professional sommelier. The activity costs 18 euros and will be repeated on eleven Thursdays in the summer (until August 29), all of them at 7:00 p.m. and with the support of the Olarra, Viña Ijalba, Spanish Franco, Ontañón and Campo Viejo wineries. Two of these tastings, those scheduled on July 11 and August 8, “will be carried out in English thinking about the tourists who visit us during these months,” said the City Councilor for Promotion, Miguel Sainz, who This morning he presented this program together with Elena Pilo, from the Association of Wineries of Logroño and José Ramón Jiménez, from the Association of Sommeliers of La Rioja.

The initiative called ‘The time for Rioja vermouth’ also proposes a tasting, in this case of Rioja vermouths paired with kilometer O pinchos, on Saturday, June 29 (12:00 p.m.) and at the price of 18 euros.

Contemporary dance will be present in the program through the Margen Danza festival, which moves its opening day to the Rioja Culture Center. It will be on June 26 between 12:00, with the performance ‘From the Earth We Come’ by Karelis Zambrano, and 8:00 p.m., with ‘Reface’ by Collectif Les Idoles. Entry, 5 euros.

On Wednesday, July 24, the CCR will host the concert ‘The 4 Seasons of Vivaldi’ by the International Virtuosi Orchestra and the violinist Antonio García Egea. The opening of architect Domingo García Pozuelo’s exhibition ‘Inhabited Places’ is scheduled for the same month. And during the first half of July, children will be able to see the exhibitions and take part in workshops with innovative materials.

The Rioja Culture Center extended its hours a few days ago and, until next October 1, it can be visited from Monday to Sunday from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
