The first coordination meeting of the national public policy on Aging and Old Age was held, with the objective of appointing the election of representatives and strengthening the processes of guaranteeing the necessary conditions for healthy aging.
To comply with current regulations, the Mayor’s Office of Yopal, through the Secretariat of Social Development and its Senior Adult program, held an extraordinary council at the Life Center of Commune 4, where the draw was held using ballots for the card for the elections of councilors of these centers in the municipality.
The event was attended by a delegate from the Municipal Person’s Office, as well as delegates from the Government and Health Secretariats, who supervised the process to guarantee its transparency and equity.
Starting this Monday, June 17, the campaign will begin in each of the Life Centers, a period during which the candidates will present their proposals without affecting the activities of these spaces. In addition, the names and details of the candidates will be published on the bulletin boards of the Life Centers.
The main objectives of these processes are to promote and encourage the active participation of older adults in the electoral process, ensuring that their voices are heard and represented.
Carry out the cause with transparency and equity, in order to guarantee a fair and transparent process in all stages of the election, from the drawing of the card to the final vote, and strengthen the role of older adults as key actors in society, promoting their empowerment and leadership capacity.
The municipal administration is inviting the beneficiaries of the Life Centers to participate and support this electoral process, for which it encourages all older adults to vote on July 3. “The election of advisors for older adults is a unique opportunity to ensure that their needs and rights are represented effectively,” they said at the Mayor’s Office.
