AGUILAR DE LA FRONTERA (CÓRDOBA), June 17 (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Commonwealth of Municipalities Campiña Sur Cordobesa has awarded the prizes for the Drawing Contest ‘Drawing a Better, More Efficient and Sustainable World’, focused on raising awareness about climate change. In this edition, in which more than 200 schoolchildren from the region have participated, eight girls from the Campiña Sur Córdoba have been finalists, standing out for “their creativity and commitment to the environment.”

As Campiña Sur has indicated in a note, this has been highlighted by the president of the supramunicipal entity, Miguel Ruz, who, accompanied by mayors of the region, as well as members of the school community of the participating schools, has delivered the prizes, consisting of gift vouchers for school supplies.

Ruz has highlighted the importance of “educating new generations about the challenges and responsibility that climate change implies, because it is essential that our schoolchildren understand, from an early age, the relevance of climate change and the need to adopt sustainable habits and, From the Commonwealth, with these initiatives we not only want to promote creativity, but also raise awareness and educate in essential values ​​for the future of our community and the planet.”

The president of the supra-municipal entity has also thanked the involvement and collaboration of the educational centers of the region and the town councils of the municipalities participating in the contest, pointing out that “without their commitment and dedication it would not be possible to carry out such enriching activities for our girls and boys, since their work has been crucial to achieving the great success of participation that this contest has had, since they have motivated the students to participate, expressing a great commitment to environmental education.

All students have received a gift for their participation, while the finalist students will see their drawings as the cover of the Municipal Plan against Climate Change of their respective municipalities, while the drawing selected from among the participants will be from the Commonwealth Plan .

The finalist students were Érika Mata, from CEIP La Guijarrosa, from La Guijarrosa; Marián López from CEIP Montalbo, from Montalbán de Córdoba; Alba Mata, from the CEIP Miguel de Cervantes, from Montemayor; Lucía Zafra, from the CEIP Torre del Castillo, in Monturque; Julia Pizarro, from CEIP García de Leaniz, from Moriles; Carmen Rider, from CEIP Santo Tomás de Aquino, from San Sebastián de los Ballesteros; Samara Sauces, from the CEIP Urbano Palma, from Santaella; and Lucía Gálvez, from CEIP Montealbo, in Montalbán de Córdoba, whose drawing will be the cover of the Commonwealth’s Plan against Climate Change.
