Successful free health day in the south of Córdoba benefited more than 1,000 people

More than 1,000 medical consultations were carried out during the free health day organized by Minerales Córdoba, the Unidos por el San Jorge Foundation and the NGO Tejido Social Colombiano, in the rural area of southern Córdoba. This initiative took place to inaugurate the Health Center of the San Juan de Asís district, in the municipality of Puerto Libertador, and had the support of the municipal Mayor’s Office.

For three days, specialists in various areas of health, such as dentistry, speech therapy, pediatrics, gynecology, general and internal medicine, dermatology and optometry, among others, provided free care to the community. In total, 1,015 medical consultations were carried out.

“We are committed to the well-being of the communities near our project. This health day is a clear example of how, through collaboration and investment in medical technology, we can make a tangible difference in the quality of life of people in this area of the country,” commented Sarah Armstrong-Montoya, CEO from Cordoba Minerals Corp.

The day not only provided medical care, but also included the donation of state-of-the-art medical equipment to equip the town’s new health post. Among the donated equipment are a portable ultrasound machine, a multi-parameter monitor and cardiopulmonary resuscitation equipment. These resources will allow the community to receive specialized care without having to travel to the municipal capital or the capital of the department, ensuring more effective and timely care.

“Working together has been essential for the success of this day. Collaboration allowed us to reach more people and provide them with much-needed care. We will continue working to develop more events like this in other neighboring villages to positively impact more people,” said Jimmy Jaimes, director of the NGO Tejido Social Colombiano.

Dr. María Isabel Zuluaga, a dentist specializing in oral rehabilitation at Live Dentistry, also highlighted the importance of this initiative: “We thank the Company for the opportunity to participate in initiatives that improve the quality of life of people in vulnerable situations. In this brigade we cover basic health care needs and, in our case, through dental consultations, we made a valuable contribution to people’s confidence to smile, which contributes to the emotional and physical development of the population. “We will be happy to participate again in future brigades to reach more people.”

The successful health day is an example of how collaboration between private companies, foundations and NGOs can generate a positive impact on vulnerable communities, improving their access to essential health services and contributing to their general well-being.
