“Bem-Vinda Violeta” is the co-production of Argentina with Brazil that will open today, at 7 p.m., the 7th edition of the Santiago del Estero Film Festival, a film exhibition that will run until Saturday the 22nd at the facilities of the College of Architects of Santiago of the Estero.
Before the screening of this film, at 6:30 p.m. “Stato di Santiago del Estero” will be seen, a silent film documentary by the Argentine author Rene Oro. It is a record made in Santiago in 1920. As this fragment, live, the Gioia Giovanile Chamber Orchestra, directed by Maestro Roberto Peralta, will perform the original composition that was made to accompany the projection of this work that lasts approximately 9 minutes.
Starting tomorrow until Saturday, they will start with twelve hours of programming. Within this framework, films from different origins that have been located in different segments of the festival will be screened. Likewise, there will be films made by Santiago filmmakers and training on topics inherent to the world of cinema. Admission is free.
“State of Santiago del Estero”
The fragment Stato di Santiago del Estero will be projected, promoting the province during the governorship of Domingo Medina, with the aim of sending it to the Milan Exhibition of that year.
For its exhibition in Argentina, the piece was titled Evolution and progress of the province of Santiago del Estero.
“Bem-Vinda Violet”
The opening film of the festival is a co-production between Brazil and Argentina. It stars Débora Falabella, the remembered actress from “Avenida Brasil”, and the Argentine Darío Grandinetti.
Eager to write her next novel, “Violeta”, Ana joins the “Fin del Mundo Residence”, a renowned literary laboratory in the Andes Mountains. There she meets Holden, a charismatic leader and creator of a method in which artists abandon their own lives to live as their characters.
Captivated by this artistic research, Ana immerses herself deeply in the method and begins to live like Violeta, until the fiction gets out of control.
