The deputies of La Libertad Avanza from Salta and other provinces who were in the parade for Güemes left when Governor Gustavo Sáenz read the Güemes Pact.

“We were forced to withdraw from the event in honor of General Güemes due to the irreverent attitude of the government of Salta and allied governors, who made political use of the event by attributing the evils of traditional politics to the government of Javier Milei,” posted the national deputy Emilia Orozco.

For his part, deputy Carlos Zapata stated: “We saw the need to withdraw, so as not to endorse with our presence the scandal of political practices that our people do not deserve and do not endorse.”

During her stay in Salta, the Vice President of the Nation, Victoria Villarruel, met with the legislators and representatives of La Libertad Avanza in Salta.

Sources consulted in Villarruel’s team took the drama out of the action and clarified that the vice president stayed because it was a “tribute to Güemes, to the people of Salta and because the institutionality exceeds her person.”

“It was on behalf of the Senate and as vice president of the Argentines. The content of the Güemes Pact is public and are historical requests and visions of Salta and the North,” they added when asked.
