Munilla seeks funds to honor its industrial past

The Friends of Munilla Association has launched a crowdfunding campaign to seek financing to erect a ‘Monument to the Emigrant’ in the town of Alto Cidacos, commissioned from the sculptor Félix Reyes.

With these dictates, and starting from his origin as a Canarian emigrant, Félix Reyes has proposed a sculptural group of three life-size protagonist figures in bronze: a man, a woman who looks back at the town and a child with a suitcase, in addition to other isolated figures that will be located in other parts of the town to complete the monumental complex as another attraction to visit the town next to the Manzanares River.

Announced yesterday by the association, the campaign extends for forty days. Those interested can make micro-patronage contributions on the website https://goteo.cc/monumentoemigrante, which also shows a video and images of the project. The objective of the Friends of Munilla is to raise at least 30,600 euros, with 51,460 being optimal to complete the execution.

Those interested in participating can do so with contributions from 10 euros. And the association remembers that they obtain tax relief between 40 and 80% of the donation amount. He gives an example: The Treasury returns to an individual 80 of the 100 euros he or she donates.
