During the long weekend, 500 thousand tourists visited the province of Córdoba, including those who spent the night in the mountains and those who went and returned during the day, according to the Córdoba Tourism Agency.

There, hotel occupancy was around 85%, which caused an economic impact of 30 billion pesos.

Meanwhile, there is great expectation regarding the movement of travelers for the next extra-long “weekend.”

The tourists came from Buenos Aires, Santa Fe, Mendoza, La Pampa, San Luis and neighboring countries.

“We project an occupancy only with monitoring of previous reservations of more than 80 percent. This weekend and despite the economic situation and a special date like Father’s Day was very positive: we had more than 250 thousand people who chose the city and the different valleys of the province to rest or walk,” said the president. from the Córdoba Tourism Agency, Darío Capitani.

“If we add to that those who go out for a walk and return on the same day, that is, they do not sleep or stay anywhere, the total number rises to 500 thousand,” the official added.

“With the launch of the winter season we are going to give continuity to the tourism policy carried out by the provincial government. We have offers of all types and colors during the winter and – for example – the possibility that Cordobans can join with important benefits in hotel stays and entertainment using the Cordoban card,” said Capitani.

High-end hotels reported 90 percent occupancy.
