This morning, the Secretary General of the Presidency, Karina Milei, will arrive in Chubut with the President of the Chamber of Deputies, Martín Menem, with the aim of participating in the hearing in which it will be decided who will “put the seal” on it. La Libertad advances in the province. This is a dispute that has as protagonists the national deputy, César Treffinger, and the libertarian leader in Rawson and current undersecretary of Fisheries, Diego Brandan.
INTERNAL DISPUTE
Treffinger currently chairs the Citizens for Chubut party, which will seek to change its name to “La Libertad Avanza”, in line with the space that has Javier Milei as its highest national reference. In the case of Brandan, one of the main collaborators of Milei and Treffinger during the national campaign that brought the latter to the Lower House, the current provincial official is one of the leaders of La Libertad Avanza in Rawson, a party that is still going through the administrative procedures required by the Electoral Justice to consolidate itself as such. This internal bidding, added to alleged delays in the definitions by Federal Court No. 1 under Judge Hugo Sastre, motivated the visit of Karina Milei and Martín Menem, who will seek, with their presence, to mark progress in party matters in Chubut.
RECEPTION
The hearing will take place in the morning, after César Treffinger receives both officials at the Trelew airport. The presence of Governor Ignacio Torres, who would initially hold a protocol reception, was finally not officially confirmed, given that the president will be in the town of Trevelin leading, together with Mayor Héctor “Cano” Ingram, the signing for the installation of a new plant belonging to a private company that produces frozen products.
DEFINITIONS
In this way, today an important definition will take place in the Electoral Secretariat of the Federal Court No. 1 of Rawson: it will determine if La Libertad Avanza is finally consolidated as a political party; or if Ciudadanos por Chubut, headed by César Treffinger, will change its name to La Libertad Avanza and will take the latter as its president in Chubut.
Brandan indicated that on his part he opposes this maneuver, justifying that “we have been promoting the space since the end of 2021, and we are associated and linked to Javier Milei.” The leader defended that “last year we presented a file to request the formation of the political party of La Libertad Avanza Chubut here in the Province.”
“Let’s hope that a solution is found and we will see if we can continue presenting the endorsements or they ask us to change the name, which I don’t think will happen because we have been promoting the space legally since before,” he indicated.
