In the Municipality, they have almost everything defined to start this Wednesday distribution of milk powder supplied by the Conin Foundation, an intermediary entity chosen by the National Government to distribute the vital food in different parts of the country. Community staff will deliver to the most needy families, selected in conjunction with various local institutions.
To finish the preparations, a meeting is scheduled for this Tuesday in which the mayor Rodrigo Buteler, the secretary of Human Development, Diego Cides and the local representative of the Conin Foundation, Alberto Capellan. The final details of what has been planned will be discussed and final approval will be given to the operation that will allow the proposed objectives to be achieved.
It will be remembered that the local headquarters of the Foundation has not only assumed the role of receiving and providing the milk for Cipolletti, but has also agreed with the Cáritas organization on distribution in other locations in the province. In addition, the product will be delivered in the city of Neuquén and in some locations in Chubut.
The national leadership of the entity, based in the province of Mendoza, received the responsibility of delivering the merchandise to different points in Argentina after the scandal that broke out in the Ministry of Human Capital for retaining thousands of tons of food, despite the hunger suffered by considerable sectors of the country’s population.
Cides reported the launch of the operation, regarding which it said that it will not take into account the participation of intermediaries, in clear allusion to the social movements that in other times kept dining rooms and picnic areas in operation.
They will be Municipal employees those who will be in charge of the distribution, based on a list prepared with the help of institutions such as soccer schools, churches, scouts and entities that work for older adults and disabled people, among others.
He indicated that the shipment of powdered milk was delivered to the Municipality last Friday by Conin, which, in turn, had the collaboration of the transport company Tortoriello for the initial deposit of the merchandise.
He clarified that there will not be 6,500 kilos of the product that will be distributed in the city, because they are not one-kilo packages as had originally emerged. The quantity will be less since the packages available are 800 grams and what they add up does not give the figure that has been talked about.
Milk expires soon
He confirmed, on the other hand, that the packages have an expiration date of July 31, so there is still a margin of time to carry out the delivery work in the most appropriate way. However, he emphasized that the Municipality is perfectly aware of the great needs that many Cipoleña families endure, which is why all necessary efforts will be made to meet the established goals in the shortest possible time.
For this reason, there is a rush to start the tasks this Wednesday and there is even the determination to work during the holidays and thus continue forward until completing what has been scheduled.
In this scheme, what is planned is the delivery of the packages to each house, to each family, who will receive the benefit after verifying the identity document number, their addresses and the neighborhoods where they live. Nothing will be left to chance and in some places there may be collaboration, for example, with small football schools to facilitate and speed up the supply.
The official reiterated that there will be no intermediaries between the Municipality and the people in need and neither will a show be put on as for “the photo”, since it is about serving a part of the population that is having a very bad time and should not be done speculation of any kind when there is hunger. Hence also the intense previous work with community institutions.
