SANTIAGO DE CUBA.- The 19th edition of the ExpoCaribe International Fair was inaugurated this Wednesday at the Heredia Cultural Complex, becoming “once again the natural showcase for the Cuban East to expose its portfolio of opportunities to the Greater Caribbean and beyond,” as stated. as highlighted by Oscar Pérez-Oliva Fraga, head of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment (Mincex).
The second commercial exchange of the Greater Antilles, “from 1993 to the present, has achieved international recognition, since it promotes the comprehensive development of the region and boosts the Cuban economy and culture,” said Manuel Falcón in his opening remarks. On this occasion, the Fair is dedicated to the 71st anniversaries of the assault on the Moncada and Carlos Manuel de Céspedes barracks, the 51st of Cuba-Caricom relations and the 509th of the Hero City, and as is traditional, it honored, in the heritage cemetery of Santa Iphigenia, to leading figures of the nation and a commemorative postage stamp was cancelled.
