The Barbechando Foundation met today with producers from different organizations in the Entre Ríos Federation of Cooperatives of Entre Ríos (Fedeco), to present the Interparty Legislative Space for Agriculture. The space “is key, if you want to have weight in the National Congress and for the Laws passed by Parliament to take into account the importance of agribusiness,” the president of the foundation, Ángeles Naveyra, told AIM.

The president of Fedeco, Ronald Garnier, participated in the meeting with Naveyra and David Hughes (Agricultural Production Engineer); from the Argentine Agrarian Federation (FAA), Elvio Guía; Cafer references, authorities of inland cooperatives and producers.

It is very important to work as a network and with friendly institutions, since a single agricultural institution cannot do it alone, but together they put the focus on the Laws of Argentina, it does not stop anyone.

Ángeles Naveyra, president of the Barbechando Foundation.

During the day, “the work carried out by the Foundation was shared and the Interparty Legislative Space for Agriculture was presented, in which more than 44 legislators from all political parties already participate and there are more than 20 waiting to join it when the first commissions are ready,” Naveyra told this Agency. In that sense, he explained that space “is key, if you want to have weight in the National Congress and for the Laws passed by Parliament to take into account the importance of agribusiness.”

For Naveyra, the sector needs legislators to know the importance of Agribusiness, “because no one can vote for something they do not know and cannot be in favor without being clear about the weight that agribusiness has in Argetina.” With this horizon, Barbechando’s objective “is to invite legislators to work, measuring the impact of the Laws and showing how, hand in hand with agribusiness, the Argentina that we all want will move forward.”

In this framework, he explained that currently the foundation has a Technical Rearguard “that makes up ten institutions (the four chains, Crea, ADA, Apresid, Asa and Coninagro), with whom the agenda is worked on in measuring the impact, numbers and data that Then, via Barbechando as an articulator with the National Congress, it is taken to the legislators, who analyze the proposals and ask questions to build the best regulations and ensure that they are approved with the force of Law. In that sense, he pointed out that an example of this work is reflected in several Laws, the last being the Base Law in which the Agrarian Labor Contract Law was incorporated.

“It is very important to work as a network and with friendly institutions, since a single agricultural institution cannot do it alone, but together they put the focus on the Laws to Argentina, which does not stop anyone,” the accountant stressed.
