And he pointed out that “the municipal government had to do many works together with the Nation and took charge very efficiently, in the face of a totally absent provincial government.”

Among those works he mentioned the North Collector, La Pulpera or the Bus Terminal.

And he noted: “If we want to talk about inefficiency we can mention the Monte Comán gas pipeline. Back in 2010 the provincial government put out to tender the work and there are 49,456 meters of buried pipes, but the work was abandoned without the 18 kilometers of gas pipeline. All the infrastructure remained. underground but without service. That is inefficiency.”

San Rafael awaits the resolution of Justice

The case for the gas pipeline work went to room A of the Federal Chamber of Mendoza after the national government appealed the first instance resolution in which the precautionary measure requested by the Municipality of San Rafael was granted and the Nation was ordered to preserve the gas pipeline and facilitate the transfer of funds.

The municipality’s goal is to finish the work that is “buried and deteriorating,” Félix said.

All this harms San Rafael, Alvear and the possibility of industrial development. We have to stop making excuses and finish the work. We did it from the commune, because there was no one to do it; It was not profitable for the company and it preferred to do it in other more populated areas,” he explained about that proposal that in principle would have come from the Ministry of Economy.

He also marked his concern about other works started or projected that do not have continuity, such as the expansion of the airport, sewer connections in the northern area or the route between San Rafael and Tunuyán which was canceled despite being tendered with IDB funds.

“Today the work represents a minimum investment for the Nation. They must comply with the agreements and complete the 10% of the remaining work, because there are items available for that,” he remarked and stated that “when the Secretary of Energy called us to Buenos Aires In the end he did not receive us. It is a lack of respect, not to the mayor but to all the neighbors.”

On the other hand, the communal chief highlighted the need for investments in the “deep” interior and that if the Nation does not see it, “they would have to see it from the Province; and if they do not see it, we will continue insisting, because there are mechanisms that allow management from the Municipality with the Nation”.
