This June 28th commemorates the International LGBT Pride Day which recognises sexual dissidence. The date chosen for this goes back to 1969. It was on that date that the riots at the Stonewall bar took place.

The place was known for being one of the few that accepted people with different sexual orientations and during the early hours of that day there were clashes due to a police raid, being considered at least one of the most iconic milestones of the movement.

Santiago Metro launched commemorative card

In that sense, every June 28, this day is commemorated in different parts of the world and different nods are made to the homosexual movement, mainly with the colors of the rainbow, which are those embodied in the movement’s flag.

And precisely the Santiago Metro launched a BIP card! in commemoration of this anniversary. Of course, it will not be available at all stations in the transportation system.
