Route cuts suspended in Neuquén after new agreement with the Province: “We await its compliance”

Under the slogan “We need to start working NOW”, social organizations in Neuquén had announced a surprising fight plan for this Wednesday which would imply road closures in different locations in the province. But during Tuesday night they confirmed that the measure would be lifted after reaching an agreement with the provincial government.

Listen to Diego Mauro, FOL representative, on RÍO NEGRO RADIO

In a statement released on Tuesday morning, they had assured that three months had passed since the provincial government committed to jobs that had not materialized so far. «Initially 30 works had been stipulated, among which were homes and important works. Then, without executing them, they changed the works to sidewalks and ditches. There were 7 that started soon. However, only two have been signed and the rest remain. Of the two signed, the continuity is for one month,” they stated.

They indicated that “the government presents the progress by showing society the signing of the agreements, but in reality the funds are not deposited and the times are delayed” and that keeps the social program frozen, in income and amounts. They pointed out that the government also did not comply with the schedule of meetings in the interior of the province and did not provide answers for public works, food assistance or social programs.
