Foreign Minister Luis Gilberto Murillo confirmed that Colombia will begin a humanitarian aid program for boys and girls victims of the conflict in Gaza. He revealed that the children are in Egypt and will arrive in the coming days in the company of their relatives for a period of six months.

“The objective is to bring between 35 and 50 boys and girls who have suffered some type of mutilation, who are today in Egypt and who were affected by the conflict in Gaza,” Murillo said.

He also noted that they are working with the Foreign Ministries of Egypt and Jordan to carry out the program and invited other countries to join this cause.

Context. The Colombian government said it will provide medical and humanitarian aid to Palestinian children and their families who have been victims of the conflict in Gaza with Israel, as announced by Elizabeth Taylor Jay, the deputy minister of Multilateral Affairs, from Sweden.
